Saints at Chiefs (-6)
I was all over Big Red and the Chiefs coming off the bye last week in Oakland. They did not disappoint with a beatdown over the Raiders. New Orleans is coming off a last second win at home against Carolina even though they allowed 38 points and blew a big lead. This line started at 7 eventually dropping to 6 which confuses and scares me at the same time. The Chiefs are a way better football team than the Saints especially playing at home in Arrowhead. I can’t overlook the talent disparity between these two teams and the homefield advantage. I’m taking the Chiefs for the second week in a row.
Texans at Broncos (-8.5)
Gary Kubiak returns to the sidelines after missing the Chargers game which the Broncos lost on Thursday night. He’ll also be coaching against his former employer as the same can be said for Brock Osweiler who left Denver during free agency. I’m thinking the Texans might be having buyer’s remorse on Osweiler, and John Elway is loving the fact he left. Houston stinks on the road especially without JJ Watt who is out for the season. Denver has lost the last two after starting undefeated coupled with the fact they had extra prep time for Houston. I love the Broncos to cover at home on Monday night.
Ravens (+2) at Jets
Regardless of who will be starting under center for the Jets they are still a bad football team. Geno Smith is not going to make things any better especially on offense. Baltimore started the season out hot 3-0, but have lost three straight since then most in late-game fashion. The Ravens play their second straight game in the Meadowlands this weekend after losing to the Giants in Week 6. The defense is a far cry from earlier in the decade, but I still think Joe Flacco can make enough plays to win this game outright along with getting points to boot.
Ole Miss (+7.5) at LSU
The Rebels are of the most, if not the most, unpredictable teams in college football. Numerous occasions this season Ole Miss has held leads heading into the 4th quarter only to surrender them ultimately resulting in a loss. The Florida State and Alabama games stand out in particular. Swag Kelly and the Rebels lost another close SEC game in the fourth quarter last week at Arkansas. This week they travel to Baton Rouge at night which is always a daunting task for any opponent. LSU has turned their season around since the insertion of interim Coach O taking the place of The Mad Hatter. Star running back Leonard Fournette will return this week for the Tigers boosting their offense. These games are typically played within a touchdown so I like the Rebels getting more than 7 points even on the road. I wouldn’t be totally shocked if Ole Miss found a way to win this game to add further confusion to their 2016 season.
2016 Record: 13-11
