Week 7 Game Picks

Brian:    LIONS 27, REDSKINS 21

Ryan:     REDSKINS 24, LIONS 16

The battle of the Eagles crushers takes place in Detroit at 1:00 PM.  The last two teams that have beaten the Eagles face off.  Redskins sit at 4-2 and 2nd place in the East.  After winning 4 straight this could be a tough game for them.  After a division game it’s tough to get up for another non division team on the road.  If the Skins can run the ball vs the Lions like the did vs the Eagles they will win this no problem.  The Lions won’t have the pleasure of Pete Morelli handing them another victory so I’ll take the Redskins in what could be an ugly game.

Brian:    BILLS 20, DOLPHINS 17

Ryan:     DOLPHINS 23, BILLS 17

The Bills are on a Redskins type roll after staring out 0-2.  Sitting at 4-2 they have trap game with the Miami dolphins in week 7.  It’s a trap game because looming in week 8 are the New England Patriots.  If anyone (media, NFL expert, player) has any beat on who or what the Dolphins are let me know.  Because I have no idea.  It’s seems like year after year we go through this with them.  It’s clear Tannehill is not a franchise QB in this league.  They recently had  a small roster spurge cutting two OL and a number of other players.  LeSean McCoy is currently second in the league in rushing but this week hurt his hamstring at practice.  He will likely be a game time decision.  Tyrod Taylor is pushing all the right buttons at the QB position and this team is rolling.  That being said I’ll take the Dolphins as this is a definite trap game with New England looming for the Bills.

Brian:    CARDS 23, SEAHAWKS 16

Ryan:     CARDS 27, SEAHAWKS 23

The Cardinals have also been a tough team to get a beat on up to this point.  They dismantled the Jets which everybody does and at the same time were dismantled by the Bills a few weeks back.  These teams always battle it out and have tough hard fought games.  This is the prime time SNF game and finally we have a primetime game worth watching, aside from Eagles Bears as that game was only in week 2.  Carson Palmer has struggled at times this year while Russell Wilson has struggled to remain healthy.  I like the way Seattle is playing.  Typical Seattle football where they aren’t winning pretty but winning nonetheless.  An argument can be made David Johnson is the best back in football.  The 3rd round Northern Iowa product is a man and monster in the open field.

Brian:    VIKINGS 17, EAGLES 14

Ryan:     EAGLES 24, VIKINGS 19

This game has a feel to me. I can’t quite put my finger on it but there is something there.  Eagles getting their faces kicked in for two straight weeks and now sitting at 3-2 face the rough spot in their schedule.  I mentioned their next 6 opponents have a combined record of 22-7 and overall the Eagles have the toughest remaining schedule in the league.  The Vikings are coming off a bye.  A bye that comes at a good and bad time.  It’s good because they can rest up as they have many injuries.  It’s bad because similar to the Eagles they were rolling and this bye could slow them down.  The Eagles need to eliminate the penalties.  They aren’t good enough to battle through self inflicted mistakes yet.  Sam Bradford brings his undefeated team into town and leaves defeated.  Eagles are pissed off and will play sound fundamental football.

Brian’s Record:  12-12

Ryan’s Record:   11-13
