Inside The NFC East – Week 11

Everyone assumes the Giants or Eagles are going to win the NFC East.  Theres a chance they might but lets not forget about the Washington Redskins.  The Redskins are quietly moving along under the radar and keeping the pace with the rest of the division.  In all likely-hood this division will come down to a week 17 game in Metlife Stadium between the Giants and Eagles.  Week 16 the Eagles and Redskins will face off in a December 26th match-up that could also very well decide the Division.  The Redskins leap frogged the Eagles and now sit in second place.  The Giants had a shot to really separate themselves but could not after losing to the Patriots after a last second FG.

NFC East Standings

Giants 5-5 (DIV 2-2)

Redskins 4-5 (DIV 1-1)

Eagles 4-5 (DIV 2-2)

Cowboys 2-7 (2-2)

New York Giants – Bye

Dallas at Miami – Sun life Stadium 1:00 FOX

The Cowboys go into Miami this week with a chance to get back in this division race.  To boost their chances against Miami they are getting back QB Tony Romo.  This is Romo’s first game since a week 2 game vs the Eagles where he broke his collar bone.  At the 2-7 they are all but finished in the East but at the same time these other teams can’t completely separate themselves.

Miami is coming off of a win vs the Eagles in what can be described as one of the ugliest games of the 2015 season in the entire league.  There’s a good chance Romo will be a little rusty in his return but I do expect the Cowboys to win this game.  Regardless of what the Dolphins did against the Eagles they are still a bad team with no direction.

Washington at Carolina – Bank of America Stadium

The Panthers are the biggest surprise in the NFL this season.  If you listened to our opening season podcast we weren’t very high no the Panthers.  After losing number 1 threat Kelvin Benjamin I didn’t think they would able to compete on a consistent basis.  Cam Newton, like him or not has thrust himself into the MVP conversation.  They have a chance to continue their undefeated season against the Redskins Sunday.  Carolina needs to focus on this game at hand.  They might be looking overlooking the Redskins with a Thanksgiving afternoon game in Dallas looming.

If the Redskins are overlooked they will beat the Panthers.  This Redskins team can go up and down and has gone up and down the field on multiple teams this year.  The most intriguing thing about this Skins team is their comeback ability.  The game isn’t over until the clock hits 0:00.  The Redskins have comeback in multiple games this year and continue to fight for all 4 quarters.  They will fight in this game but I don’t believe they have the horses upfront to handle this Carolina team.  Running the football is about imposing your will on another man and defeating him.  The Redskins run downhill and will give the Skins all they can handle.
