Inside The NFC East – Week 9

Last week the winners in the NFC East didn’t play a game.  Thanks to the schedule makers both the Eagles and Redskins were able to gain ground on their NFC East counterparts.  The actual division standings didn’t change however the amount of games back for each team certainly did.  It doesn’t get any easier for any team this week in the division.

NFC East Standings

Giants 4-4 (DIV 2-2)

Redskins 3-4 (DIV 1-1)

Eagles 3-4 (DIV 1-2)

Cowboys 2-5 (DIV 2-1)

New York Giants at Tampa Bay – Raymond James Stadium 4:05 FOX

Giants come off one of the most bizarre games I’ve seen in recent memory.  They scored 49 points and lost to a Saints team they in all honesty should have beat by 10 points.  After getting down big the Giants stormed back but couldn’t hold on late as the Saints won in the final seconds.

The Bucs should be coming off a 2 game winning streak.  They let one get away 2 weeks ago against Redskins and beat a good Falcons team last week.  Jameis Winston is really improving as a QB.  You can see his growth from week to week.  I don’t expect this to be a very good game and it could get sloppy at times.  In the end I expect the Giants to pull it out.  Something along the lines of 20-16.  I doubt they will put up 49 points.  If they do, they certainly won’t lose.

Washington at New England – Gillette Stadium 1:00 FOX

The Redskins have the toughest task this week as they make the trek north to face an undefeated, pissed off at the league Patriots team.  The Skins , like the Eagles are coming off a bye.  They currently sit in 2nd place and by no means are out of the division race.  I don’t expect the gain ground this week however.  The Patriots are coming off a 10 day break themselves after beating the Dolphins last Thursday.  The Redskins are getting healthier as well.  Reports indicate DeSean Jackson might be back in the line up this week.  They were able to stay above water with out him.  He will only help their case in the division down the stretch.

Philadelphia at Dallas – AT&T Stadium 8:30 NBC
