Inside The NFC East – Week 4

The NFC East certainty isn’t as good or perhaps competitive as we thought going into the 2015 season.  At the start we thought this was a 2 team race between the Eagles and Cowboys.  It might still be a 2 game race.  The only issue is we don’t know which 2 teams that will be.

NFC East Standings

Dallas 2-1 (DIV 2-0)

New York 1-2 (DIV 1-1)

Washington 1-2 (DIV 0-1)

Philadelphia 1-2 (DIV 0-1)

New York at Buffalo – Ralph Wilson Stadium 1:00 FOX

The GMen are coming off a long lay off.  A lay off in which they beat the Redskins last Thursday night to save their season.  As we predicted it wasn’t the best game to watch, most of these Thursday games aren’t.  Kirk Cousins threw a couple of INTs and ultimately couldn’t make enough plays.

The Giants will face a Bills team coming off a straight up beatdown of the Miami Dolphins.  The Bills humiliated the Dolphins in all 3 phases and for most hardcore football fans have us questioning why Joe Philbin is associated with a football team in any capacity.  This game will be a nice test for the Giants to measure themselves.  The Bills have a monster and opportunistic defense.  The Giants recently worked out a few WRs.  A name Giants fans will remember, Hakeem Nicks (former Giant) and Wes Welker.  I expect the Giants who are struggling a little offensively to have a hard time with this Bills defense.  Tyrod Taylor made the first road start of his career last week and played well.  If he can carry that over to this week I expect the Bills to win this game.

Dallas at New Orleans-MercedesBenz Super Dome 8:30 NBC

The Cowboys are going to win this game by at least 10 points.  The Saints have lost 6 games in a row at home.  So much for the “Dome” field advantage.  We made comparisons on our podcast in regards to the Saints and Eagles but the Saints remind me of the 2012 Eagles.  We all saw it coming to an end and just had to sit and watch the dumpster fire burn.  The Saints are on the downside of the bell curve and will be for the foreseeable future.

NBC has the right to flex in or out bad match ups later in the season.  I have a feeling they wish they could do that now.  The Cowboys are playing with zero stares with Romo and Bryant out and the Saints are doing the same with no Brees.  There’s a shot he could play but rotator cuff injuries can be very tricky.  I don’t expect him to play.
