Inside The NFC East – Week 2

Week 1 of the 2015 NFL season is in the books.  If you’re like me you were glued to NFL red zone all day counting down the hours and minutes until the Eagles took the field Monday night.

St. Louis at Washington – Fed Ex Field 1:00 PM

This game features two teams trending in different directions.  The Rams are coming off of a crazy game against Seattle.  Nick Foles didn’t look too bad in his Rams debut leading a comeback win.  The Redskins lost to the Dolphins in a game that wasn’t esthetically pleasing for both teams.  Miami was the last team standing at the end of an ugly contest.  The Redskins in all honesty should have won this game.  Kirk Cousins turned the ball over and couldn’t make enough plays in the end.

The Redskins will be with out DeSean Jackson for the foreseeable future.  With out DeSean teams will focus in on Alfred Morris and Pierre Garçon.  The Skins have some inexperience along the OL in some spots so I fully expect the Rams DL to tee off.  This one could get ugly real fast.  I’m not sold on the Rams as a play off team yet but I don’t believe they will struggle on Sunday.

Atlanta at New York – Metlife Stadium 1:00 PM

As Eagles fans we are very familiar with the work of the Atlanta Falcons.  I expect much of the same this week from them.  The Giants like the Eagles are the better team in my opinion but the Falcons do present some difficulties for a team with a new and banged up defensive backfield.  The Giants have some injuries on the back end of their defense.  Depth is a huge concern.

The Giants are coming off of a back breaking loss.  A game they should of won but due to poor decision making they fell short.  Ruben Frank of CSN Philly compared the end of Coughlin’s tenure to that of Andy Reid’s in 2012.  A great coach just trying to do anything to win with a team he knows is fundamentally flawed.  The way the Giants lost that game on prime time TV could have a rippling effect that could follow them for weeks.

Dallas at Philadelphia – Lincoln Financial Field 4:25 PM
