Day 3 Recap- Football is Back at The Linc

  • Today’s practice was held at Lincoln Financial Field and was open to the public as has been the case the past few training camps under Chip.  From all reports it seemed like a pretty good turnout especially for a Tuesday afternoon.
  • Eagles fans are tremendous…looking at you Sports Illustrated.
  • According to multiple news outlets, the Eagles and Sam Bradford are in talks about a short term contract extension that would keep the QB here beyond the 2015 season.
  • Bradford practice for the third straight day and Sal Paolantonio hopped on the Mike Missanelli Show of 97.5 The Fanatic saying he’s looked “tremendous.”
  • Chip said the reason DeMarco Murray was held out of team drills the first day was due to his hydration levels.  It left him more suceptible to injury.
  • Elliot Shorr-Parks of NJ.com tweeted he thinks rookie undrafted free agent tight end Eric Tomlinson has a better chance than most people think of making the 53 man.
  • Matt Tobin was back at right guard on Tuesday.
  • Louis Riddick of ESPN was in attendance for today’s practice and tweeted about Josh Huff being able to stay healthy cause he can do everything in this offense.  Encouraging sign.
  • Chip mentioned that with the ACL tear to Travis Long they will work in Brad Jones and Brandon Hepburn.  Kiko Alonso will not be going outside.
  • He also didn’t rule out bringing in another player for depth and he is keeping an eye out.
  • Demeco Ryans said “I’m right where I need to be.”
  • Good read on CSNPhilly.com by Geoff Mosher describing how Nolan Carroll is looking to prove he’s worth increased playing time this season.
  • Brian Westbrook will be inducted into the Eagles Hall of Fame on Monday Night Football against the Giants on October 19th.  Congrats B-West well deserved.
