Fred Barnett played 8 years in the NFL. 6 years for the Eagles’ from 1990 – 1995 and 2 years with the Miami Dolphins from 1996-1997. Over his career Barnett totaled 361 receptions, 5,362 yards and 32 TDs. During his 6 years with the Eagles’ he racked up 308 receptions, 4,634 yards and 28 TDs. He cleared 1,000 yards twice while donning kelly green during the 1992 and 1994 seasons. Barnett was selected to the Pro-Bowl after the 1992 season. His worst year came in 1993 as an injury shortened his season to 4 games.
Born on June 17, 1966 Barnett was selected by the Eagles in 3rd round of the 1990 draft. He played his college ball at Arkansas State. Barnett had a knack for climbing defensive backs and make acrobatic catches. One famous play that comes to mind for most people is the 95 yard TD reception from Randall Cunningham during a 1990 contest against the Buffalo Bills.
